Installing YSL for Use with Enterprise: YSL Classic

If you use Enterprise, there are two ways to install YSL:

c	When you install Enterprise

c	As a separate installation into an existing Enterprise directory

The procedures for a separate YSL installation are intended for users of Enterprise 4.6x. If you are using Enterprise 4.3x or 4.5x, and you want to upgrade to YSL Classic 2.8x, contact Yardi technical support.

To install YSL when you install Enterprise: YSL Classic

1	Insert the Enterprise CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.

2	Follow the installation instructions on the screen. For more information, see the Enterprise Property Management Setup and Installation Guide.

3	From Windows Explorer, locate and open the Yardi46 folder.

4	Select the Yardi_DBLink.xla file.

5	Copy the Yardi_DBLink.xla file, and place the copy in your database's default path.

The default path, or defpath, is the location on your network that has been reserved to store common files for use by the Yardi program and database. A company's default path is company-specific.

6	Locate and open the YSL_Samples folder. Copy all of the files in this folder, and place the copies in your default path.

You need to copy Yardi_DBLink.xla and YSL sample files to your default path only once. You do not need to repeat this step if you install YSL onto additional systems.

To install YSL when Enterprise is already installed: YSL Classic

1	Insert the Enterprise CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive.

2	From Windows Explorer, locate and open the Install folder.

3	Select the SETUP.EXE file.

4	Click Open. The Run Installation Program screen appears showing the default path to SETUP.EXE. Change the path if needed.

5	Click Finish. The Yardi Systems Property Management Setup screen appears, with a recommendation that you close any applications that are currently running.

6	Click OK. The Yardi Systems License Agreement screen appears.

7	Click I Accept. The Change Directory screen appears.

8	In the Path field, type the path to the location of your Yardi license file.

You can also use the Directories field to locate and select your license file.

9	Click OK. The Standard or Custom Installation screen appears.

10	Click Custom Workstation. The Yardi Systems Property Management Setup screen appears, showing the Directory field with the default YSL install location (C:\Program Files\Yardi46\).

11	If you need to change the directory path, click Change Directory and then follow the prompts.

12	Click the Install button () to continue. The Yardi Systems Property Management screen appears.

13	Select the Spreadsheet Link check box and clear all other check boxes.

14	Click Continue. The Yardi Systems Property Management -- Choose Program screen appears.

15	Verify that Yardi 4.6 is selected in both the Program Group field and the Existing Groups field, then click Continue. YSL installation begins. A confirmation message appears when the installation is complete.

16	From Windows Explorer, locate and open the Yardi46 folder.

17	Select the Yardi_DBLink.xla file.

18	Copy the Yardi_DBLink.xla file, and place the copy in your database's default path.
