This section provides instructions for preparing IRS 1099 forms for vendors, owners, and tenants. All 1099 forms produced using Yardi Voyager meet the latest IRS requirements. Using Voyager, you can process 1099 forms for paper or electronic submission.

Preparing 1099 forms is a five-step process:

1	Prepare the 1099 data, ensuring that the proper information is entered on the Vendor, Owner, Resident, G/L Account, Property, and Payable screens.

2	Extract 1099 data to the 1099 table in the Voyager database.

3	Print the completed 1099 forms for recipients, and, if you are filing on paper, the IRS.

4	Prepare electronic files (if filing electronically) or prepare the 1096 cover sheet (if filing paper 1099 forms).

5	Submit the electronic file or mail the forms.
