Detaching and Deleting Attachments

Detaching means removing the link between a file and the record it was attached to. The file is not deleted from the server and can be re-attached.

Deleting an attachment removes it from the server. Before you can delete an attachment, you must detach it.

1	Open the record from which you want to detach an attachment.

2	Click Attachment in the Data or Functions menu. The Attachments screen appears.

3	Click the Detach check box for the attachments you want to detach.

4	Click Save. The attachment no longer appears in the list.

If you want to delete the file from the server, proceed to the next procedure.

To delete an attachment

1	Open a record of the type associated with the attachment. For example, if the file was associated with a resident record, open any resident record.

2	Click Attachment in the Data or Functions menu. The Attachments screen appears.

3	Click Add. The Add Attachments screen appears.

4	Select the Delete check box for each file you want to delete.

5	Click Delete. Voyager asks you to confirm deletion.
