Automatic Field Formatting

Voyager automatically formats the content in some fields:

Formatting Convention

Date

You do not need to type a separator to complete date fields. For example, to complete a mm/yy field for November 2009, type 1109 and tab to the next field.

Monetary amounts

Do not type a currency symbol ($, £, €) or punctuation dividing the digits in fields containing monetary amounts. For example, to complete a monetary field for one-thousand Euros, type 1000 rather than €1.000.

E-mail

Voyager creates an active link in e-mail address fields. You can double-click the link to create an e-mail message in the e-mail editor designated in Internet Explorer.

Percent sign (%)

Do not type a percent sign in fields containing percentages.

Telephone number

You do not need to include parentheses or hyphens in telephone numbers. Voyager automatically formats telephone numbers depending on the number of digits, for example: 555-1111, or (111) 555-1111, or (111) 555-1111 x111.

Time

For fields where you need to type the time, you do not need to include the colon (:). You do need to indicate A.M. or P.M. For example, type 1020PM for the time 10:20 P.M.
