This section describes how to install or upgrade the Voyager system on your Web server. Procedures are also included for configuring Microsoft Internet Explorer for secure access to the Voyager website. These procedures are intended for system- and network-administration personnel.

Voyager system installation and setup require an advanced knowledge of Web server and network operations. Before installing and configuring Web server applications and utilities, contact your network or system administrator, or computer consultant. These procedures are for either a first-time, full Voyager installation, or an upgrade that includes complete removal of the previous version and full installation of the latest version. At the time of publication, a Voyager 6.0 installation requires that you install Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 (with applicable service packs and security updates) on the Web server. Some new Windows Server installations and updates may provide a limited or run-time .NET version; however, unless you have specifically installed the components identified in the following procedures, you may not be able to correctly set up Internet Information Services (IIS) in order to access Voyager. The Internet Information Services (IIS) procedures in this section apply to Web servers with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5, and Voyager 6.0.08.22.
